Set in the heart of Burgundy’s prestigious vineyards, the towns of Dijon and Beaune offer you their cultural and gastronomic riches for your pleasure. Learn all about mustard and blackcurrants through tours specially dedicated to them. Visit magnificent sites to discover the history of this ancient duchy.

Beaune and Dijon – Two jewels in the heart of the vineyards

1st Day:

- Arrival in Dijon. Explore, at your own pace, the architectural treasures nestling in the heart of the districts and along the streets of this town, the former capital of the Dukes of Burgundy (detailed tour guide with commentary provided).

- Lunch: you are free to lunch at the restaurant of your choice (at your charge)
- Leave Dijon for a tour of the Côte de Nuits and its famous appellations. The visit to Clos de Vougeot, the headquarters of the famous international fraternity of the Chevaliers du Tastevin, will offer you a view of its architecture and its ancient presses.
- Your tour then continues with a visit to the Cassissium, a museum space dedicated to the blackcurrant. You will visit the production site of the Védrenne spirits and liqueurs, ending with a tasting session.
- Depart for Beaune and installation in the hotel.
- Evening: rendez-vous at a good restaurant in the centre of town for dinner, drinks not included.
- Return to the hotel.

2nd Day:

- Breakfast.
- A guided tour of the last family-owned mustard mill and, of course a mustard tasting!
- Lunch: you are free to lunch at the restaurant of your choice (at your charge)
- You will explore the history of France and the Duchy of Burgundy during a visit to the Hospices de Beaune, a superbly preserved masterpiece of flamboyant Gothic art from the 15th century, famous throughout the world. The roofs of glazed coloured tiles and the magnificent polyptych by Van den Weyden will take your breath away.
- Then the largest wine cellars in Burgundy will open its doors to you for a visit and wine tasting featuring 13 Burgundy wines.
- Before leaving town, you will visit the Museum of Wine (Musée du Vin), with its typically Burgundian architecture and its collections presenting the tradition, objects and techniques of viticulture.
- End of the programme.
